So, I just finished the movie Detachment. It stars Adrian Brody as the main character—a substitute teacher going through some rough stuff. I’m not sure what to make of the movie. I feel like it was good, but man—it is not a feel good movie. It will make you sad, just a forewarning. But I recommend it. It’s interesting, at least. At times, hard to watch.

Anonymous asked: My sister has an African Clawed frog. It's female because it's laid tons of infertile eggs. The eggs would just sit in the bowl and rot until we threw them out. This last clutch of eggs I took out and put in a petri dish and well, I fertilized them with my own semen. The fucking things are developing! WTF I don't know if I should flush them down the toilet or what. No one else at...

I have a question for you. Yes, you.
If you’d be so kind as to answer, it’d be greatly appreciated. What music venues do you like? My band is trying to set up shows all over, and we’d like to know about what places you all know about. We are especially interested in places in Michigan (or therabouts), since that’s were we are currently located. However, I know I have followers from all over, and I’d...

Badass of the Week: Julie D'Aubigny →
tempestfae: I want to be this woman. “Beautiful, valiant, generous and supremely unchaste.” Julie D’Aubigny was a 17th-century bisexual French opera singer and fencing master who killed or wounded at least ten men in life-or-death duels, performed nightly shows on the biggest and most highly-respected opera stage in the world, and once took the Holy Orders just so that she could sneak into a...

bidyke: Hegemonic discourse* about what it means to be queer (and therefore, oppressed as queer) constructs queerness as a series of visual markers: certain appearances, certain gender performances, certain clothes, and above all – the proverbial “walking hand in hand on the street” (or simply being in a same-gender relationship). Bisexual people who, for any reason, do not give away these...

Dan Savage is an asshat. Just thought you should know. It angers me to no end that the whole “It Gets Better” thing was started by such a judgmental jerk. Not to mention how many people seem to think he’s so awesome and intelligent. No no no. If you’re not an upper class, white, gay, cis male, he’s probably said something hurtful about you. Oh, and not to mention...
